The Fiat 90 was a compact car produced by the Italian automaker Fiat from 1984 to 1990. It was designed as a replacement for the aging Fiat 132, aiming to offer a more modern and fuel-efficient alternative in the European small family car segment. The 90 was available in both three-door hatchback and five-door station wagon body styles, and its design was characterized by sharp lines and a distinctive front fascia with a large, rectangular grille and rectangular headlights. It was a relatively successful model for Fiat, with over 1.2 million units produced during its six-year production run. The Fiat 90 was powered by a range of petrol engines, ranging from a 1.1-liter unit to a larger 1.6-liter engine. These engines were coupled with either a four-speed manual or a five-speed manual transmission, with the latter being offered on higher-spec models. The car was praised for its comfortable ride, practicality, and relatively low running costs. Despite its popularity, the Fiat 90 was ultimately overshadowed by the introduction of the larger and more modern Fiat Tipo in 1988. The 90 continued to be produced alongside the Tipo for a brief period, but it was eventually discontinued in 1990, ending a six-year era for the model.
